Oceanfront Condos in Hollywood Hallandale
Palm Beach is the easternmost town in Florida located on a 16-mile-long barrier island fronting the Atlantic. The other side of the island faces Lake Worth and anything on the other side of Lake Worth is the city of West Palm Beach. Palm Beach was established as a resort by Henry Morrison Flagler, a founder of Standard Oil, who made the Atlantic coast barrier island accessible via his Florida East Coast Railway. The nucleus of the community was established by Flagler's two luxury resort hotels, the Royal Poinciana Hotel, and The Breakers Hotel (originally wooden structures, neither survived). The site of the Royal Poinciana is now "Whitehall" Henry Flagler's home, and The Breakers was rebuil and is much larger and recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation, which included condo offerings of unmatched elegance.
The homes and condos on Palm Beach proper are among the most expensive in Florida. There is a huge variety of architectural styles but each home is exquisitely landscaped and perfectly maintained. The Breakers Hotel, host of an annual polo tournament where Prince Charles regularly played, Palm Beach's oceanfront gem of a hotel is at the north end of a row of mansions on the beach. The most famous, Mar-A-Lago, once the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, is now a private condo club, and was the site of Ivanna Trump's recent wedding. A drive along Ocean Drive, the most prestigious Palm Beach address, offers a view of Palm Beach's most incredible mansions, divided from their beachfront cabanas by the road. Lake Worth is connected to the Ocean by inlets at the north and south end of Palm Beach, and there are six bridges offering a crossover from the mainland.
Palm Beach has been, and is, home to many notable residents including Donald Trump, Ronald Perelman, Lili Pulitzer, The Kennedy Family, and many others. The finest shopping in the world can be found on "Worth Avenue". Legendary for its quality merchandise, and extraordinary integrity, opulent Worth Avenue offers everything from haute couture, designer shoes, and exquisite jewelry to internationally acclaimed paintings and antiques, restaurants, hotels, boutiques, and upscale businesses and services. When you valet park your car at a Worth Avenue car park, the keyboard may be labelled "Rolls Royce", "Mercedes Benz", and "Other".
